Decorated Cake: Stump with Shelf Mushrooms


One of my husband's hobbies is mushroom hunting.  For his birthday two years ago, I decided to make him a special cake!  I was going for a type of shelf mushroom called "chicken of the woods" (which is a delicious mushroom!  has the texture and taste of chicken, no joke!)  The mushrooms and bark are made of marshmallow fondant.  This was my first try at marshmallow fondant!  I think it turned out well enough.  AND it was delicious!  (cheese cake filling!)
